![]() ![]() So, it appears that Brave browser on Mac requires KeePassXC to have "Google Chrome" browser integration enabled, instead of the one for the Brave browser. This post will outline the steps necessary to convert a KeePass database over to using an OATH HOTP configuration slot on the YubiKey, along with NFC Data Exchange. This is not an offer or solicitation in any jurisdiction where we are not. Note: I’m using Windows 10 and Android 10 (Q) in this post. Generally, we recommend you let KeePassXC generate a dedicated key file for you. Then, I switched back to enabling only "Google Chrome" browser integration (all other disabled) and key exchanging now works. I’m assuming similar functionality will work with KeePassXC for Linux and MacOS but have no way of validating this. Just to make sure I'm not mad, I've disabled all browser extensions in KeePassXC, except for Brave browser, restarted the KeePassXC and now extension no longer can exchange keys with the KeePassXC. However, then I opened extension's settings and navigated to "Connected databases" and clicked "Connect" and then it detected the running KeePassXC instance and successfully connected to the database. Instead, it kept saying that browser integration is not enabled in KeePassXC.Īfter that, I've enabled all chromium-based integrations (Chrome, Chromium, Vivaldi and Brave), clicked the refresh button in browser extension and nothing happened. (Optional) Browse for the Key File if you have chosen it as an additional authentication factor while creating the database. ![]() After that, I did not get the same error anymore. I followed the troubleshooting guide provided, but also seems that it didnt got fixed. After that, I've enabled only Google Chrome (all other integrations were disabled). Both on Chrome and Brave browser, whenever I try to connect to the database, this message is displayed: 'Key exchange was not successful.' Somehow the connection to the database doesnt seem to be working. I tried disabling brave and enabling only chromium - same behaviour. Check that browser integration is enabled in KeePassXC settings. ![]()
